Summer 2008 in Steamboat Springs

The Brees Family spent 12 days in Steamboat Springs, CO in August. Anticipating dry cool weather (in contrast to the sultry Georgia summer), we stumbled upon the wettest, warmest summer in decades. Still, great times were had. We drove up to the Continential Divide and hiked several trails, rode the gondola and hike on the ski mountain, played disc golf, ate great food, slept more than necessary and generally had a relaxing time.

Alpine Slide

Simon and Daddy rode the Alpine slide nearly 20 times. I think this was Simon's favorite activity as it combined the chairlift and the slide. And true to his personality, we went fast and furious down the mountain... no brakes for this little guy. Over the wind, I could hear "faster Daddy faster".
