Fox

Two foxes live in the marshy area next to the house. Every morning and every evening they stalk around and sometimes play with one another. The kids loved watching them and often had some close up views.

Hiking Down Mt. Werner (Steamboat Mountain)

We rode the gondola up the mountain and hiked down the 3.8 mile path to the base. There were great views and the kids had loads of fun.

There is a small stone beach where Soda Creek runs into the Yampa River right by the actual Steamboat Hot Springs. We moved the stones around to form a channel and then floated "leaf boats" down the channel.

Cattle Drive

On July 5th there was a cattle drive through downtown Steamboat Springs. Lots of moos and poos.

After the parade, we watched a summer time ski jumping competition on Howelsen Hill. The competitors were as young as 13.
