I See An Alligator
This is my stupid impression of a pointer pointing at an alligator. They never move while you're there, so you have to look pretty carefully to see them in the grass.

4012 Holly Hill Road
The house my grandmother has lived in almost (if not) 60 years. Mom remembers when the trees in the front yard were waist high to her as a child. Amazing.

Beer Hags
I thought we were just staging this shot until Grandma actually took a swig of beer. This and the next few pictures are at Steamboat Bills, a great low-down seafood restaurant in Lake Charles.

Slap Ya Mama Hot Sauce
The hot sauce said to "slap ya mama", so we decided to be cheesy and snap this picture. You can see the 10lb bag of crawfish in the plastic bowl in front of mom. Ummmmm. So good you should really wear a bib.

20 Lbs of Crawfish Goin' Down
Apparently there's a science to eating 10 lbs of crawfish. You can see the division between eaten and waiting to be eaten. There's also a science to getting the meat out of the tail cleanly. Something about shoving the tail into the body with a 1/2 twist of the tail. That sounds... well... I'll just stop here.

Sucking Crawfish Heads
I thought sucking the heads of crawfish was just a cheesy slogan the put on t-shirts in the French Quarter (you know why). But, according to Mom, who's been eating crawfish since she was a kid, the spicy jucies they cook 'em in get trapped in the head and you suck it out for the flavor. I can buy that... but I'm still not doing it.

Hundt & Petersen Visit

The Hundts and Paula/Holly Petersen came to Atlanta in March, on the same weekend no less. We all had a great time hanging out, climbing stone mountain, and such. As a bonus, the weather in Atlanta was in the 70s while both the Hundts (from Milwaukee) and the Petersens (from Nebraska), left from and returned to snow.

Parker & Lucy in the Air Chair
We thought this was such a cute picture of Parker and Lucy - hanging in the air chair on a sunny March afternoon.

A Bag O Parker
We had this old flannel pillow case and so I started trying to put Parker in it. It quicky became a game with both of them screaming to be put in the pillowcase. Kids!

Fort UHaul
We made a fort and series of tunnels from old moving boxes. P&L seemed to really enjoy it.

Hundt Visit

The Hundt's made their first visit of the year in January during one of the coldest weeks. Not a week before they arrived from Milwaukee, it was in the high 60s and sunny. Then they arrive and it snows in the mountains and a hard freeze settles in.

Sticky Eyeballs.
Stacy bought Parker these sticky eyeballs that you can throw against the wall and they stick and then slowly creep down to the floor. Needless to way, within an hour, we had marks on most of our walls. Still, it was fun.

Lucy Comfortably Asleep
We caught Lucy asleep on the sofa in such an interesting pose. It's as if she's laid back at the beach or in some clothing catalog. Very cute.
