Pinestraw at the Carter Center
Daddy and Simon had a boys morning out today. We rode our bike (and bike carrier) to the Highland Bakery for some breakfast (bagel sandwich for Daddy and Chunky Tropical Fruit with Cheerios on the side for Simon). On our way back, we stopped by the Carter Center lawn and pond to spead a few quiet minues. They had just laid down fresh pinestraw so Simon got to play around with them for a while. Although not pictured, we also got to see some Canadian Geese.

Simon's First Birthday
Simon celebrated his first birthday party with his little friend Ethan, who was born on the same day... 30 minutes later. Even more interesting is that Stacy and Ethan's mom Dawn were both due the same day... and each delivered 10 days early... 30 minutes apart.
Dawn's dad is a championship BBQ cook who wins state-level competitions all the time. He has a NASCAR size trailer with a custom mobile kitchen installed. We managed to convince him to cook his award-winning ribs for the birthday celebration and he agreed. DAMN... they were good!
The boys played and had a great time. Simon ate gingerly on his cake while Ethan ripped into his with vigor.
